01Agreement to these terms

Welcome. These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of mariejulianedavid.com (the “Site”), the personal portfolio of Marie Juliane David (“I,” “me,” or “my”). By visiting or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Site.

02About this site

The Site is an author and journalist portfolio. It presents my published articles, books, poetry, press coverage, reading recommendations, and information about my work, together with a way to contact me. It is provided for general information and to let readers, editors, and collaborators learn about and reach me.

03Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the content on the Site, including its text, poems, book excerpts, photographs, images, layout, and design, is my property or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws.

Many of the journalistic articles featured here were first published by other outlets and are credited to those publications; rights in those works may belong to the original publishers, and they appear here as a portfolio of my authorship.

You may read, share links to, and quote briefly from the Site with proper attribution. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, translate, adapt, or distribute any content for commercial purposes, or in a way that suggests endorsement, without my prior written permission. 05Messages and information you send

When you contact me through the Site, you agree to provide accurate information and not to submit anything unlawful, infringing, or confidential that you do not have the right to share. I do not accept unsolicited manuscripts, pitches, or ideas on any obligation of confidentiality; if you send creative material without my request, you do so at your own risk, and it will not create any obligation on my part.

I will handle the information you send in line with my Privacy Policy.

06Books and purchases

Some of my books are sold through third parties (for example Les Éditions du Net, Amazon, and other retailers). When you buy through those channels, the sale is between you and that retailer, and their own terms, prices, delivery, and returns policies apply. I am not responsible for their service.

Where the Site lets you “request a book from the author,” your request is an invitation for me to respond, not a confirmed order. A sale is only formed once I confirm availability, price, and delivery with you directly. Details you provide for a request are used only to fulfil it.

07Affiliate disclosure

Some links on the Site, particularly to books, are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases, at no additional cost to you. Any recommendation reflects my own genuine view; the affiliate relationship does not change what I choose to recommend.

The Site links to websites I do not control, including publications, retailers, and social media. Those links are provided for convenience and do not imply my endorsement.
